Volunteers at the county's 7 covered bridges give players a luck-of-the draw card. The sev-en covered bridges remaining in Preble County are unique in many ways. Roberts Double Barrel is the oldest covered bridge remaining in Ohio, second oldest in the U.S. and also the oldest of the nation's six re-maining double-barrel bridges. On September 2nd, all participants will have the rare opportunity to drive across the Robert Dou-ble Barrel Bridge.
Additional information re-garding past and present Preble County covered bridges can be found in the Society's publication "Covered Bridges of Preble County, Ohio". Musical entertainment will be provided at the Historical Center, the lunch stand will also be open, as well as the Sayler-Swartsel House, 1813 Lewisburg Log House, Bank Barn, Exhib-it Hall, General Store, and hiking trails. New artifacts recently accepted by the Society's acquisitions committee will also be on display.
